EUREKA - Velma K. Zehr, 88, of 317 Evergreen Court died at 9 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2003, at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka.

She was born Aug. 2, 1914, in Deer Creek to Peter and Louisa Sutter Zehr.

Surviving are one brother, Milton (and Helen) of Morton; and three sisters, Fannie Zehr, Mary Zehr and Doris (and Robert) Yoder, all of Eureka.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

She worked for Morton Pottery for 29 years, retiring in 1979. She then worked for Tazewell Publishing Co. for eight years.

She was a volunteer at Eureka Et Cetera Shop.

She was a member of First Mennonite Church in Morton and was active in the missions of the Mennonite Women.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at her church, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. Doane Brubaker will officiate. Cremation has been accorded. Burial of ashes will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Tremont at a later date. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Maple Lawn Homes Memorial Hall, where visitation will be one hour before. The Revs. Doug Hicks and Robert Harnish will officiate.
