Nadine Stillwell Hale, age 66, of the Hickory Tree community, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born April 13, 1943, in Richlands, VA, a daughter of the late Oscar and Florence McClanahan. She lived in Springlake, NC, until moving to the Hickory Tree community in 1979. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Hale. Survivors include a loving husband of 48 years, D.J. Hale; child, Ray Hale; grandchildren, Daniel Pickel, Angila Rivers, Nikki Hinkle and Dakota Hale; great-grandchild, Byron Hale; and sisters, Rita Jean McClanahan, Lettie McClanahan, Margie Pickle and Arlene Deaton. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Crumley Cemetery, with the Rev. Buddy Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Weaver Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Dillon, Grady Harr, Travis McClanahan, Denny McClanahan, David Hayes and Jeff Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Tester, Dave Jones, Raynard Miller, Gene Carr and Gale Thacker. Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home.
