Randy W. Hendricks, 31, RR 1, Pittsboro, died suddenly Thursday evening, Feb. 26 (1981) after he suffered a fatal heart attack at his home. Rev, Byron Rohrig of the Pittsboro United Methodist Church officiated at the services Sunday afternoon, March 1, at the David A. Hall Mortuary, Pittsboro. Following the funeral, burial was in the K of P Cemetery at Lizton.
Mr. Hendricks was born in Lebanon on Aug. 26, 1949 to Evert and Mary (Thompson) Hendricks who survive. The self-employed carpenter resided in the Pittsboro area all of his life and was married to the former Dawn Jackson. He was a member of the Brownsburg American Legion Post No. 331 and served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict.
During his military service, he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, Combat Action ribbon, Meritorius Unit citation, National Defense service medal, Vietnam service medal, RVN MUC Gallantry cross with Palm, Vietnam campaign medal with Device and the Good Conduct Medal.
Survivors besides his wife and parents include a son, Brian Wayne Hendricks; a daughter, Amber Dawn Hendricks; both at home; and three sisters, Janet Lovell, Beverly Ridenour and Linda Hendricks, all of Pittsboro
