He was the son of Jacob Yearick and Elizabeth (Cronable) Yearick

Bio

Isiah M Yearick, a merchant and the postmaster at Flinton, Cambria County. is a son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Cronable) Yearick, and was born in Penn Valley, Clinton, Co., Pa, 9/30/1846. His great grandfather Yearick was a native of Germany, whence he emigrated and became one of the pioneer farmers of Clinton Co. His paternal grandfather was born in Clinton Co, where he purchased a large farm in addition to a large tract of timber land, and was considered one of the most prosperous farmers of his locality. He was a member of the Reformed church.

Isiah M. Yearick was reared on the farm and received his education in the common and select schools. He remained on the farm until he attained his majority, and then, with brother William, engaged in mercantile business in Centre County, Pa. He remained there a year, then accepted a position as clerk with David Robb in his general store at Marsh Creek. He stayed for six months, then for the next 6 months traveled in Illinois and Nebraska. In 1889 he returned to the east and bought the general store of Ralph McDowell, at Flinton, Reade Township, Cambria County, where he has since conducted a general merchandise business. He was also an extensive dealer in lumber, bark, railroad ties and shingles. He is a member of the United Brethern Church, and is a Democrat. Since his residence in Flinton, he has held the position of postmaster.
On September 11, 1890, he married Miss Maggie Esch, daughter of Adam Esch of White Township, Cambria Co. They had one daughter, Vesta. (Biographical and Portrait Cyclopedia of Cambria County, 1896, reprinted 1980 )
