EMSLEY JACKSON CHESNEY
Emsley Jackson Chesney was born in Green county (sic), Kentucky, September 20, 1850, and died at his home in Superior February 25, 1918, aged 67 years, 5 months and 5 days.
Deceased came with his father to Holt county (sic), Missouri in 1854 where he resided until 1866, when be came to Gage county (sic), Nebraska. It was while living in Gage county (sic) that he was married to Eva l. Benjamin, who together with eight children survive him, four children having preceeded (sic) him to that better world .
The living children are: Thomas A., Ambrose W., Mrs. Leona M. Young; Grover C., Mrs. Jennie G. Blackstone, Charles H., Albert P., and Mrs. Carrie S. Larson, all of whom live in and near Superior.
Deceased also has one brother, Thomas B. Chesney, who lives at Lincoln, Nebr., and three sisters, Mrs. Carrie S. Crane of Clatonia, Nebr.; Miss Mattie Chesney of Fremont and Mrs. Virginia L. Moxon of Alliance, Nebr.
In 1903 Mr. Chesney came to Nuckolls county (sic) with his family where he has since resided.
The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday at 2 p. m. and were conducted by Rev. Allen, pastor of the Reformed Presbyterian church (sic). Burial was made in Evergreen Cemetery.
