- July 25, 1839 Verrazano was born to Orrin Dirlam (Massachusetts) and Minerva Smith (Mass) on the family farm in Green Creek Township.

- Civil War – Verrazano Served 3 years in the 41st Regiment Company H, of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry, enlisting at the outbreak of the war. In 1864 younger brother Theodore enlisted in the OVI 169 Regiment, Company B for the One Hundred Day service. Brother 1st Lt. Henry served in Company G 41st Regiment OVI, and died in 1863 as a result of wounds he received in the Battle at Missionary Ridge, part of the Cumberland Campaign.
- March 25, 1865 Verrazano married Celia Ellen Baker (1842 – 1878) .
- December 19, 1865 younger Brother Theodore married Philena J Harrington (1843 - 1887).

- 1870 Census Verrazano, Celia & 2 oldest boys living in Huntington (near Wellington).
- Spring 1872 Verrazano moved his family to Pawnee County, Kansas to farm.
- March 1873 younger Brother Theodore travels to Pawnee, moving his wife Philena and children in June 1874.
- May 1873 Pawnee county was divided into townships and a colony from Geneva, Ashtabula County, Ohio settled in Garfield Township.
- June 1873 The settlement of Garfield gained a post office; population estimate 150
- July 1874 the county was plagued by grasshoppers, which came in swarms; county settlers received their last Indian scare, bringing numerous settlers from outlying communities into Larne.
- 1875 Verrazano and Theodore's Families appear in the Kansas Census in Garfield, Pawnee County.
- May 6, 1878 wife Celia dies, and is buried in the Garfield Cemetery, Pawnee County, Kansas.
- 1880 Widower Verrazano & 3 boys appear in Federal Census in Garfield, Pawnee, Kansas.
- Spring 1881 with health failing, Verrazano moves his family back to Lorain County, Ohio; the population of Pawnee County had risen to approx. 4,000.
- February 1880 Brother Theodore loses 8 year old son Claud in Pawnee County, buried in Garfield Cemetery with Aunt Celia. He has his second daughter Lena the next year.
- May 1881 father Orrin dies in Huntington, Lorain County, Ohio.
- late July 1882 Widower Verrazano travels with his widowed mother to visit brother Frank in Townsend township in Sandusky County, Ohio.
- August 3 1882 Verrazano dies at his brother's home, of stomach concerns he had suffered since the War. He leaves orphaned 3 sons age 17, 15, and 10.
His body was returned to Huntington and buried in the Old Huntington Cemetery.
- 1887 Brother Theodore's wife Philena Dirlam dies in Kansas and is laid to rest in the Garfield cemetery with her son and sister in law Celia.
- January 1888 Theodore and daughter Minnie return to Ohio at the urging of his widowed mother Minerva.
- October 13, 1930 brother Theodore dies in Pittsfield Twp, Lorain County, Ohio
He is laid to rest in the same cemetery with both his daughters and his brother Verrazano.
