Funeral services for William Harris Brantley, 80, of Edom, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Edom Baptist Church with the Rev. E.A. Jordan and the Rev. Paul Lyons officiating.
Burial will be in the Edom cemetery under the direction of the Eubank Funeral Home of Canton.
Mr. Brantley died Thursday in an Athens hospital after a long illness.
He was a long time resident of Van Zandt county , coming here as a young man from Mississippi. He was a retired farmer and worked in the Defense Plants during WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ollie Brantley; two sons, Morris Brantley of Dallas and Shirley Max Brantley of Groves; a daughter, Mrs. Vivian Colley of Brownsboro; two brothers, Otho Brantley and Choice Brantley, both of Carthage, Mississippi; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Griffith, Mrs. Grace McPhail, Mrs. Bertha James and Mrs. Vennie Lewis, all of Carthage, Mississippi; twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
