Olympic Athlete. He was invited to join the Canadian Edmonton Mercurys hockey team in 1948. Elected assistant captain, he led the team to a Western Canada Intermediate title and the World Championship in London, England, 1950. At the 1952 Winter Olympics Oslo, his team captured the gold medal with a win over Team USA in the final game. In 2001, he was inducted into the Olympic Hall of Fame. He died of heart failure.
