Mrs. Gertrude Baker, 78, Called by Death
A resident of Lorain for more than half a century, Mrs. Gertrude Baker, 76, 1844 Lexington Ave., died early this morning after a brief illness.
She was a prominent member of St. Joseph's church and took an active part in lodge work. She was affiliated with the Mother's society of St. Joseph's church, and the Josephine Lodge No. 7.
Mrs. Baker was born in Germany, and came to Lorain in 1882 and had been a resident of this city since.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. A.S. Saegern, Mrs. Barbara Kirsch, Mrs. Leroy Burgett and Mrs. Harry Hessler; and two sons, Joseph F. Baker and Frank C. Baker, and seven grandchildren all of Lorain.
The body will be removed to her home late today from the Reichlin and Cooley funeral parlors. Services will be held at St. Joseph's church at 9 a.m. Friday. Rev. Jermoe Rohner, pastor, will officiate.
