I have confirmation from the South Carolina State Archives that Frederick J Taylor did indeed die during the Civil War. Last Muster Roll was Sept-Oct 1864. His wife Catherine Baylor Taylor was receiving a widow veterans pensions age the age of 64, year 1901. After the Civil War because of the state of the government it did take 4-6 years before a widow woud receive her first payment.
