The True Citizen, issue of 6 April, 1901:
Rev. George L. JACKSON, one of Burke county's oldest and most respected citizens passed away Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Julia PERKINS. Mr. JACKSON was in his 91st year. In his younger days he was an active minister of the gospel. His death was the peaceful falling asleep of one of God's chosen. The burial service took place at Little Buckhead cemetery.
