Missionary, mother, and wife of the British Bible teacher Derek Prince.
Born as Lydia Camilla Agneta Christensen in Denmark.
Lydia received an early call in the 1920s to live in Jerusalem. Taking up residence in the Jewish Quarter outside the Old City she witnessed the increasing conflict between the Jews and Arabs.
During World War II she became acquainted with Derek Prince, a British soldier who came to Palestine during the war. He mustered out of the British Army in Jerusalem and they were married in 1946. She was 25 years older than Derek. They had eight adopted daughters.
Lydia had run an orphanage for girls in Ramallah, north of Jerusalem. During the 1948 War of Independence, they were trapped in Jerusalem between the Arab and Israeli armies. Following their evacuation, they moved to London, England where Derek became a pastor. Over the years their ministry expanded. In the 1950's Derek became headmaster of a school in Kenya, where they adopted an African child.
In the early 1960's they came to the United States where they were associated with the early birth and development of the Charismatic movement. Their teaching took them all over the United States and into the world.
