Jean Hoegh, 81, passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Jean was born Oct. 19, 1927, in Elliot, Iowa, to George and Stella Alliband. She was raised in Atlantic, Iowa, and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1945. She attended Grinnell College.
On Nov. 23, 1947, she married to Dale Edward Hoegh. They had three children and moved around while he worked in the aerospace field. They settled in Fort Worth in 1967 to finish raising their family. Jean worked in the public school food service for 30 years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church with her husband, Dale, until he passed away in 2003.
She continued to be active in the church and volunteered for Meals on Wheels until she became too ill.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and her husband, Dale.
Survivors: Son, David Hoegh and wife, Teresa, of Poteau, Okla.; daughters, Sue Ellen Fry and husband, John, of Corpus Christi and Jo Van Name and husband, Rick, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Rachel Hoegh, Ben Hoegh, Daniel Hoegh and wife, Ashley, Jessie David and husband, Orin, Eric Hoegh, Jean Rivera and husband, Mario, Lewis Fry and wife, Kit, Richie Van Name, Dale Van Name and Amy Rautio and husband, Tyler; and great-grandchildren; Caitlyn and Tomas Rivera, Hannah and Kendall Fry.
