Edmund Mortimer, aged 86 years, died last Sunday evening at his residence, No. 12 Cypress street. Mr. Mortimer was born in Trowbridge, England, in the year 1805. He came to Rochester in 1856 and was connected with the firm of E. P. Reed & Co. Recently he retired from active business life. His wife, whose maiden name was Mary Andrews, and who also was English by birth, having been born in Sheffield, died twelve years ago. Three children, Miss Carrie Mortimer, Mrs. E. J. Jones, and Mrs. E. P. Reed survive Mr. Mortimer. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 4 o'çlock at the house. The burial will be private.
