Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Kiehn, who died Monday at the Adams County Memorial hospital, will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Philadelphia Congregational church. Rev. Herbert Haemmelmann will officiate. Interment will be at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers will include Carl Kiehn, William Oestreich, Orville Luiten, Earl Luiten, Fred Luiten and Carl Eckhardt.
Mrs. Kiehn, whose husband Kasper, died May 16, was born May 19, 1894 at the Charles Schmidt ranch west of Ritzville and was educated here.
In 1914 she was married to Jacob Schoessler and five children were born to the couple. They farmed a half mile from her birth place. He preceded her in death in 1921.
She then was married to Mr. Kiehn in November, 1923 and they farmed the Schoessler place. One child, Selma, was born to the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Kiehn retired from farming about 15 years ago and moved to Ritzville. She was a member of the Philadelphia Congregational church and the Grandmother's club.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Eugene Schwan, Mrs. Ted Lovik and Mrs. George Foley all of Spokane, and Mrs. Eldon Morrell of Pilot Rock, Oregon; two sons, Harold and Clarence Schoessler, both of Ritzville; four sisters, Mrs. Ralph Unger and Mrs. Frieda McCullough of Spokane and Mrs. Herman Miessner of Chehalis and Mrs. Marvin Cox of Tacoma; three brothers, William, Harold and Albert Schmidt all of Ritzville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
