Homer City
Ira Glenn Ober, 80, of Homer City died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 3, 1922, in Indiana, the son of Solomon W. and Rosie Lovelace Ober.
Mr. Ober had been a member of the Indiana Church of the Brethren.
He retired from FMC Corp. after many years of employment in research and development.
In his spare time, he collected antique clocks and watches. Until recent years, he was an avid hunter.
He enjoyed traveling with his family.
He is survived by a son, Ivan Ober and his wife, Trish, Pittsburgh; a daughter, Eunice Spory and her husband, Paul, Homer City;
Also, four grandchildren: Brian Smith, Eric Ober, Kristin Spory and Nathan Ober; a sister, Lois Silvis and her husband, Clyde, Clymer; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emma; a grandson, Craig Smith; and three brothers, Paul, Harold and LeRoy.
Funeral service was held Thursday in Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City with the Rev. Horace "Butch" Derr officiating.
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
