Kenneth was killed in action near Anzio, Italy while assigned to an intelligence unit of Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 157th Infantry Division - exactly one year after enlisting in the Army at Fort Meade, MD. Initially reported missing in action along the Cassino Front, Kenneth was wounded twice having received the Purple Heart in JAN 1944.

Prior to serving in the Army, Kenneth attended University of Pennsylvania where he was a brother of the Pennsylvania Delta chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp) Fraternity.
