Graveside services for Homer B. SPEARS, 75, of Hulbert, Okla., were held June 27, in Old Spears-Neugin Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Homer Bill SPEARS was born October 6, 1923 in Hulbert, Okla., the son of Charley Barker and Lillie Myrtle JOHNSON SPEARS, and he departed from this life on June 24, 1999 in Tahlequah, Okla.

Homer served in Europe during World War 11 and was wounded by gunfire when a bullet grazed his skill and thigh. He was honorably discharged on March 12, 1946. Homer was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was married to Clara B. HAYES who preceded him in death. Also preceeding him in death were his parents; infant sister, Edith; and two infant daughters, Margie and Elaine.

Survivors include his son, Ernie; his daughter Elda; one brother, Lester, all of Okla.; two sisters Allene of Okla. and Arlene of Fla.; three grandchildren, Katrina, Mark and Lee; and three great grandchildren.
