Sister M. Bernardo Billy, a Pittsburgh Sister of Mercy and former teacher, died of cancer Monday in Mercy Hall in Oakland. She was 73. She began her career at St. Paul's Orphanage in Crafton and later taught elementary school at St. Elizabeth in Pleasant Hills, St. Pius in McKeesport, St. Regis in Oakland, Immaculate Conception in Washington, Pa., and Our Lady of Lourdes in Burgettstown, Washington County. After retirement she worked as a pharmacy technician at Mercy Hospital. Visitation is from 1 to 8:30 tonight at St. Mary Convent, 3333 Fifth Ave., Oakland. The funeral mass is at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Mercy Hall Chapel at the convent. Burial will be at St. Xavier Cemetery in Latrobe, Westmoreland County.
