Funeral service for Maxine Williams will be 11 a.m., Wed., Aug. 19, at First Christian Church, Chelsea, with Rev. Richard Billings officiating. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-7 p.m.

Maxine died Sat., Aug. 15, 2009, at St. John's Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 86.

The daughter of Jeremiah Weaver and Sylvia Georgia Marie (Looney) Mills was born June 2, 1923, in Coffeyville, KS. She attended grade school at Whitehill Grade School, and graduated from Alluwe High School in 1941. Maxine was a member of White Church and First Christian Church of Chelsea.

On Aug. 15, 1943, Maxine married Duane Hubert Williams in Oklahoma City. Duane was killed in action during World War II. Maxine worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Charles Kouri for 40 plus years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and traveling on vacations.

Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, Duane; daughter, Karen Clancy; parents; brother, Dale Mills; and brother and sister of the heart: Glen Stierwalt and Eva Sigler.

She is survived by grandchildren: Tammy Ellis and husband, Darren, Todd Morrison and wife, Debbie, and Duane Morrison and wife, Debbie all of Chelsea; 7 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and brother and sister of the heart: Mabel Harris of Claremore, and Floyd Stierwalt of Tahlequah.
