Violet Clark

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home for Violet F. Clark of Eugene, who died Aug. 16 of age-related causes. She was 92.

She was born May 7, 1917, in Eugene to Winford and Ruby Kinyon Lord. She married John E. Burkin in 1937, in Eugene, and he died in 1966. She married John B. Clark in 1973, in Eugene, and he died in 2000.

She graduated from Eugene High School and attended the University of Oregon for several years; she was a graduate of the Eugene Beauty College. She was owner and operator of her own beauty salon, worked as a beautician at Tiki Salon for several years and then worked in ladies' retail sales at Montgomery Ward until her retirement.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Taylor, of Eugene; two sons, Don Burkin of Eugene and Richard Burkin of Oregon City; and eight grand­children, more than 12 great-grandchildren and more than six great-great grandchildren. Three grand­children died previously.
