She was the daughter of Joseph A. Cunningham and Jennie Jones, born in Tennessee she is enumerated on the 1880 census at Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, age is 5, born about 1875. She married William J. Hawks in October 1897 in Kentucky and on the 1910 census they are living in Tupelo, MS., birth year is 1876. She is living in Washington, D. C. on the 1920 census, married, working as a stenographer for the treasury department. She attended law school at Washington College of Law and it appears she was admitted to the bar in 1926 when she was about 50 years old. She married James Williamson on 28 Jul 1943 and according to the notice of her death she died on 22 Jan 1966 at Mantee Memorial Hospital.
