Velma Catherine Price, 96, of Conway, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009. Born in Searcy, Arkansas, she was a daughter to the late Walter and Lula (Ketchum) Price. Velma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her flower gardens. She was a charter member of Northside Church of Christ in Conway, where she attended services for over 50 years.
Her husband, Thurman Wesley Price, sons T.W. Price and Wendell Price, sisters Vivian Sparrow and Vera Thorn and brothers Bill Tanner and Estes Tanner also preceded her in death.
Her daughter, Mary Katherine Bender and husband Richard of North Little Rock, daughters-in-law, Jaccye Price and Lillian Price, both of Conway; one brother, Dee Tanner of Searcy; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and thirty-one great-great grandchildren, survive her.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, with Randy Smith and Tim Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park, with Derwin Williams, Gene Bartley, Jerry Overman, James Pollard, Mike Mayfield and Elmo Brewer serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 18, at the funeral home.
