OCEAN SPRINGS -- Mr. Louis Elwood Cox, 78, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Cox was a native of Biloxi and a lifelong resident of the Coast. He was a member of Lemoyne Boulevard Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was employed witn the City of Biloxi and then with Ingalls Shipbuilding for 17 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruby Gollott Cox; and two sisters, Trula Bond and Bonnie Rae Madden. Survivors include his wife, Lois Extine Cox; two daughters, Cynthia Stubbs and Kimberly Mapp; five sons, Charles Kuns, Tyrone Cox, Carey Cox and Timothy Cox, all of Ocean Springs, and Ronald Cox of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Olivette Haab of Mobile; two brothers, Joseph Cox and Matt Cox, both of Ocean Springs; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. A service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lemoyne Boulevard Baptist Church, where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery in Ocean Springs.
