A farmer, Mr. Swihart had lived in the Akron and Beaver Dam communities all his life. He was born at Beaver Dam Oct. 24, 1902, the son of Alva and Musa WADE SWIHART. He was married in 1921 to Ethel YARIAN and was a member of the Gilead Methodist church.
Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Norman (Margaret) BENSON, Akron; a granddaughter; the step-mother, Mrs. Osa SWIHART, Tippecanoe; four half-brothers, Howard and Gordon SWIHART, Tippecanoe; Chauncey, [SWIHART], South Bend, and Kenneth [SWIHART], Florida; three half-sisters, Mrs. Helen SHANAFELT and Mrs. Loretta RHODES, Bourbon, and Mrs. Dorothy KINSEY, Tippecanoe.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Haupert funeral home at Akron with the Rev. Claude FAWNS officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
