LUNG TROUBLE CAUSED DEATH
Francis Emil Hekel Leaves Widow and Three Children
Francis Emil Hekel, aged 49 years. died at his residence at 421 Ninth St East at 11 o'clock Sunday morning after a long illness due to tuberculosis. He submitted to an operation three years ago and had never regained to his former health. Tho a sufferer with the lung trouble he had been able to continue to work at his trade as a cabinet maker for the Waterloo Sack an Fixture Works until about the middle of May. Since that time he had been at home, and for the past two weeks had been confined to his bed. Mr. Hekel had worked for the Nauman company for 29 years. Mr. Hekel was a native of Germany having been born at Saxon on June 8, 1865. He came to America at the age of three years and had been a resident of Waterloo since 14 years of age. He leaves widow, who before their marriage 25 years ago was Miss Annie Schwartz, and 3 children, Alfred, Pauline, and Luella, all at home. One daughter, Emma, died seven years ago.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2'oclock from the home, at 421 Ninth St East and at 2:30 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Interment will be made in Fairview Cemetery.
