Phillips, Martha Owens—Born May 23, 1880. Deceased this life January 1, 1959. Age 78 years, 8 months, 29 days. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Charlie Phillips in 1903, who preceded her in death in 1956. To this union were born 13 children, 2 boys and 11 girls. Talmon and Letha preceding her in death. She leaves 1 son, Alonzo Phillips; 10 daughters, Prencie Phillips, Winnie Chambers, Arlena Litton, Vivian Grundy, Stella Coffey, Zola West, and Ollie Pike all of Oneida. Della Grundy and Ella Pennington of Cincinnati, Ohio. Nellie Slaven of Indianapolis, Ind. She professed a hope in Christ in September 1903, and joined the Cherry Fork Baptist Church later moving her membership to the Tunnel Hill Baptist Church where she remained a member until death. She also leaves to mourn her passing 2 brothers and 2 sisters, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. We feel our loss is Heaven's gain.
