Funeral services for Mrs. Billie Sapp Fairbanks, 77, of Leesville were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 8, in the Hixson Funeral Home chapel in Leesville the Rev. Chris Blanchard officiated. Burial followed in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Fairbanks died Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the Minden Medical Center. She was a native of Slater, Fla., and a longtime resident of the Leesville-Vernon Parish. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Leesville since 1966, where she served as a volunteer with the Mental Health Clinic in Leesville. Survivors include her husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Russell Usher Fairbanks who she married on May 25 1945 in Lee, Florida; two daughters, Autumn Wohlsdorf of Leesville and Debra Mathieson of DeRidder; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
