BEAVER--Wesley McKay Farrer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away March 29, 1994 at his home in Beaver, Utah.

He was born October 10, 1924 in Beaver to Wesley William and Lottie Ross Farrer.

He married Janell Ewing December 22, 1947 in Logan, Utah.

Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.

McKay spent many years in the service of others. He was a volunteer fireman and ambulance driver for 30 years. He also served as Little League president and umpire, was very active in the Democratic Party, and supervised the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby for 24 years. He was an active LDS member, and served in various callings. His favorite calling was that of teaching Primary with his wife in the Star B Class. He served as postmaster for 16 of his 32 years in the Postal Service. He was a veteran and was proud to have served his country in the Army during World War II. He also served as American Legion Post Commander. His favorite pastime was farming with his faithful companion, Mitzi.

McKay is survived by his wife, Janell, Beaver; two daughters and a son, Kristine and Clarence Pollard, Beaver, Utah; Connie and William Carter, Steven and Julie Farrer, all of Salt Lake City.

Also surviving are one sister and brother, Chloe Fillmore and Rondo and Beverly Farrer and mother-in-law, Ruby Ewing, all of Beaver; grandchildren include Laurie and Scott Langford, Jason Pollard, Jamee, Jedd and McKenzie Carter, Josh and Erin Farrer and great-grandson, Jordan Langford.

He will be missed by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Lance McKay Langford, and three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 2, 1994 at 1 p.m. in the Beaver 1st LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Olpin Mortuary on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Beaver Valley Hospital Geriatrics Ward.
