Mrs. John Blilie, 79, died Sunday at Immanuel hospital in Mankato. She was in Mankato visiting her husband, a surgical patient at St. Joseph's hospital, when she suffered a stroke at the home of a niece.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist church with Rev. F. J. Krueger officiating. Interment will be in the Redwood Falls cemetery.
Amanda Lathrop was born February 24, 1894 in Beaver Falls township, a daughter of George and Elizabeth Scheer Lathrop. She graduated from Redwood Falls High school in 1915 and taught school in rural Redwood Falls one year before her marriage to John Blilie June 14, 1916 in the Methodist parsonage in Redwood Falls. They made their home in Redwood Falls and observed their golden wedding in June of 1966. She was a member of the First United Methodist church, Woman's Christian Temperance Union and Crystal Rebekah lodge.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Mrs. George S. (Alice) Skalicky of Blooming Prairie and Mrs. S.S. (Viola) Taylor of Colorado Springs, Co; five grandchildren and sisters, Mrs. Estella Hepner and Mrs. Mary Roper of Redwood Falls.
Friends may call at Hoepner funeral home in Redwood Falls after 2 p.m. Wednesday and at the church Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
