Harvey J. Olson was born December 30, 1903 at Brandon, Minnesota, the son of Henry and Jennie (Bergh) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at West Moe Lutheran Church and attended District #82 and Brandon High School. Most of Harvey's lifetime was spent in Brandon with the exception of a few years during his boyhood that he lived in North Dakota. He helped on the family farm and later owned it.
Mr. Olson has been a member of Grace Lutheran Church since 1920 and also a member of the Sons of Norway. He made on trip to Norway in 1977, where he visited his ancestral homes.
After a few months illness, he died at the Douglas County Hospital on June 26, 1980. Survivors are one sister, Lila of Brandon; two brothers, Elroy of Maryville, Washington; Clarence of Montclair, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers and one nephew.
Funeral services were held July 1, 1980 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Fred Gilbert officiating. The soloist, Mrs. Lester Olson was accompanied by Mrs. Dennis Johnson. Pallbearers were Mark Olson, Bruce Olson, Roger Olson, Jerome Olson, Larry Olson, Lester Olson, Jeffrey Olson and Raymond Strand. Interment at Brandon Cemetery, Brandon, Minnesota. Services directed by Alexandria Funeral Home.
