MRS. WILLIAM C. MILROY
Melinda Milroy, wife of William C. Milroy, died Sunday morning at her home in Shickley, Nebraska, aged sixty-nine years. Mrs. Milroy's death was caused from nervous shock caused by having her arm broken.
Mrs. Milroy by her kindly nature and earnestness of character won many friends who sympathise with the bereaved husband in his great loss. Mr. Milroy was formerly a resident of Rhinebeck. He is also a member of Co. C, 128th Regiment, N.Y.S.V.

This community was shocked on Sunday morning to learn the sad news of the death of Mrs. W. C. Milroy, which occurred about 4:20 a.m.
Mrs. Milroy's death was caused from a nervous shock caused by having her arm broken. On Saturday it was thought that by amputating the arm, her life could be saved, but she sank rapidly until the time of her death.
Malinda Carnes was born at Leida [sic - Leidy], Clinton Co. Pa., April 18, 1839, when [sic - where?] she was united in marriage on March 23, 1859, to James C. Keeler and later she moved to Carleton, Neb., where Mr. Keeler died in November, 1875. Two years later she became the wife of W. C. Milroy, who survives her. For many years she has been a resident of Shickley.
Mrs. Milroy, by her kindly nature and earnestness of character, has won many friends who sympathize with the bereaved husband in his great loss. Mrs. Milroy was a faithful and earnest member of the Congregational Church and of the W. R. C., the latter attending the funeral in a body.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Mr. Triplett. The remains were laid to rest in the Shickley Cemetery.
