A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon, for Dessie C. Shirley, 80, who died Saturday in a ceres hospital. Burial will be in Burwood Cemetery, Escalon.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Deegan chapel.
A native of Texas, Mrs. Shirley lived in Escalon 17 years and had lived in Modesto the past 10 years.
She is survived by four sons, R.M. Reynolds and Bobby Roy Reynolds, both of Texas, and Charley and James Lewis, both of Modesto; two daughters, Katie Lee Burns and Belle Dugan, both of Modesto; a brother; 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
