Pink was the son of William Goodman Murphy and Harriet Jane Blagg. His parents moved from Corinth, Mississippi to Center, Sharp County, Ark. in 1870.
He married 1st Nov 23, 1873, Sharp Co, Ark. to Martha Belle Spurlock, daug of David D. Spurlock. She died in 1884, probably around the birth of her 4th child. The baby went to live with Martha's brother, William Karr Spurlock and his wife, Martha Jane (Rogers).
Married 2nd to Willie Lock and had 8 more children. She died in 1911. Married 3rd Martha Jane (Rogers) Spurlock after 1917. Wm. Karr had died in 1908.
