Alice Catherine Childers - A native of Demopolis, AL and a long time resident of Mobile, joined her beloved husband and Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 19, 2009. Mrs. Childers was a charter member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church, the Forest Hill Garden Club and the Azalea Dance Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, David F. Childers, Sr., and her parents, Clarence Milton Harper and Ashley Davies Harper. She is survived by her son, David F. (Laura) Childers, Jr. of Orange Park, FL; her daughter, Sandra of Saraland; four grandchildren, Krista Lynn (Paul) Viator, James David "Buddy" (Alisa) Turner, David F. (Lori) Childers, III, and Brian Childers; four great-grandchildren, Caroline Childers, Claire Turner, David F. "Davis" Childers, IV, and Chloe Turner; two special nephews, Steve (Linda) Childers and Douglas (Sheila) Childers; other relatives and friends. Graveside celebration of life and interment will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. procession to the cemetery at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Mrs. Alice Childers - graveside services were held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2009 with Rev. Robert Lutz and Buddy Turner officiating. Pallbearers were Steve Childers, Paul Viator, Doug Childers, David Childers, III, David Childers, IV, and Buddy Turner. Interment was in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
