Floyd was the son of Mary Rebecca J. Barrow and her first husband, John Lee Johnson. When Floyd registered for the WWI draft in 1918 he was living in Verona, Lawrence County, MO, but noted he was born at Plano and his father was from Halltown. Floyd had blue eyes and light hair. By the time WWII came around he was living in Placer, CA. According to SSDI, he got his Social Security number while living in KS, and at the time of he death he resided in Springfield, MO.
