He was born June 10, 1902, in Willard, Missouri. After attending Drury College, Springfield, Missouri, he entered the family-owned retail business. In 1945, he moved to South Dakota where he entered the automobile business. In 1953, he and his son, Dan Cloud, purchased the Buick Agency. Mr. Cloud was president of Cloud Buick until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Masonic Lodge No. 349, was a Shriner, a member of the Appleton Elks Club and was a former member of the Butte des Morts Country Club.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel E. and Helen Cloud of Appleton and Dr. William Max and Leslie Cloud of Wilbrahm, Massachusetts; six grandchildren and five great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Cochran Cloud, on October 13, 1981; two sisters and two brothers.
Friends will be received following the memorial service which will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 720 E. South River Street, with Rev. John McFadden officiating. Private family committal service will be at the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Highland Memorial Park, where entombment will take place."
