Reba Florence Waddell Reeves, 87, of Midland, our precious mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday August 23, 2011, at her home in Manor Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 2011, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park on Friday, August 26, 2011, at noon, followed by memorial services at 3:00 p.m., at Crestview Baptist Church, with Dr. John Gerlach officiating. Reba was born on August 15, 1924, in Grapeland, Texas, to William and Ethel Waddell. She lived in and around Grapeland with her two brothers and two sisters before graduating from Grapeland High School. She later moved to the Houston area where she met and married, on September 25, 1945, the love of her life, Daniel W. Reeves. They were married for over 62 years, until his death in 2008. The couple lived in the Houston, Texas, area until their move to Midland, Texas, in 1996. Reba is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Ory Waddell of Dickinson, Texas; and sister, Dane Anderson of Beaumont, Texas. She is survived by sister, Moggy Breeding of Grapeland, Texas; and brother, W.D. Waddell of Kansas City, Kansas. Also surviving are sons, Wes Reeves and wife Susan, of Midland, Texas, and Jimmy Reeves and wife Kathy of Pearland, Texas; grandchildren, Melissia and Josh Hoke of Midland, Texas; Weslee and Zach Schroeder of Colleyville, Texas; Marshall Reeves of Colleyville, Texas; Connie, Daniel, and Alyssa Reeves of Pearland, Texas; and great granddaughter, Shiloh Schroeder of Colleyville, Texas. The family suggests memorials be made to Crestview Baptist Church (Building Fund) 301 N. Loop 250 West, Midland, TX 79703.
