Friedrich Trump emigrated in 1885 at age 16. He worked as a barber, restaurant operator, hotel keeper, and eventually became a builder/investor.

He died of the Spanish flu during the early phase of this pandemic. He took very suddenly ill while on a walk with his son, Fred, and died the very next day.

He was the grandfather of Donald John Trump, 45th and 47th President of the United States.
