Mrs. Gus Schnittgen Passes Away. Raymond Pioneer Died Saturday, February 25th, of Tuberculosis

Mrs. Gus Schnittgen died at her home three miles northwest of Raymond, Saturday, February 25th, at half past eleven at night, as the result of what is known as quick consumption or tuberculosis, after an illness of several weeks.

The funeral was held at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Plentywood, Rev. Father John Hennessy officiating, Wednesday morning, March 1st, and interment made at the Plentywood cemetery. A large throng of friends and neighbors in the Raymond precinct attended the funeral in Plentywood. Mrs. Schittgen being a very lovable and much loved character by her relatives and all those who have been her neighbors since pioneer days and those who have only known her a few months.

Obituary: Mrs. Gus Schnittgen was born at Jordan, Minnesota, February 1, 1872, her parents being pioneers in Minnesota, and she was married June 27, 1899 to Gus Schnittgen, to which union was born eight children, four of whom are living, two boys and two girls., namely; Erma, Alma, Arthur and Norbert, who besides her husband, Gus Schnittgen, and numerous friends and relatives mourn her death.

Mrs. Schnittgen, together with her husband and children, came to Montana and settled on a homestead in the Raymond precinct in the fall of 1913, where she has lived through the pioneer days, and until her death last Saturday living an ideal life and being loved and respected by all who knew her.
