Edward J. Niesen, 83, Route 5, Chippewa Falls, died suddenly Thursday, Sept. 24, 1992, at St. Joeseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
He was born Oct. 19, 1908, in Dead Moose Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of Peter and Anna (Lessmeister) Niesen. He married Agnes H. Thill May 8, 1931, in Chicago.
He was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, and the Rubberworkers Union. He had worked at Uniroyal for 27 years.
Survivors include five daughters, Bernadette (Monroe) Schwartz and Henrietta (Kenneth) Boos, both of Chippewa Falls, Nancee (Joseph) Schneider of Route 3, Bloomer, Bernice (Richard) Kreuser of Kenosha, and Shirley (Ronald) Vradenburg of Eau Claire; four sons, twins Floyd (Eva) and Lloyd (Nadine), both of Bloomer, Robert (Gloria) and Donald (Barbara), both of Chippewa Falls; one sister, Rose Stevens of Ettrick, Wis.; 37 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; and special friend Florence Knipfer.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1976; his parents and two brothers, Walter and Norbert.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Tilden. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Horan Funeral Home. a Christian vigil service will be held at 6:15 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
