Lennie Mae Stone, dau. of Timothy Nimrod Stone and Bertha Margaret "Bird" Hastings, b. Apr. 6, 1899 (paternal grandmother's bible) vs. in 1901 as inscribed on her gravestone and her Oklahoma death certificate. (The writer possesses the 1899 silver dollar with hole punched through it close to its edge used by Timothy N. Stone as the fob for his pocket watch in remembrance of Lennie's birth year.) She was b. at or near Sadie south of Sallisaw in Cherokee Indian Territory (now Sadie, Sequoyah County, OK) and d. Sept. 28, 1983 in Tulsa, OK.

On Sept. 16, 1916 in Prague, OK, Lennie m. Omer Webster Cowen, s. of Stephen Frederick "Fed" Cowen and Mary Drucilla Williams, b. Apr. 28, 1896 at Cedarville, AR. He d. Oct. 8, 1964 in Tulsa, OK. They had seven children who are outlined in their father's memorial.

Lennie Mae was NOT the child of George Hiram McKnight and should not be confused with George Hiram McKnight's natural child Lenna Mae (Mcknight)(Jones) McGarrah. The claim that George Hiram McKnight was Lennie Mae (Stone) Cowen's natural father is the result of very poor genealogical research in the 1970s by a now deceased extended family relative.
