JAMES SQUIRE, a soldier of the Lord, departed this life Sunday, January 1, 1989. James, the son of the late Jordan and Chloe Squire was born in Sutherlin, VA, October 29, 1903. He was reared and educated in Sutherlin. On March 18, 1945 he united in marriage to Sue Motley. The Squires joined St. Paul's Baptist Church of Montclair under the leadership of Reverend Billups. James attended regularly until his health no longer permitted his weekly attendance. James was very devoted to his Lodge, Jeptha Masonic Lodge #56, and had become a highly respected, long—service member. He was truly a wonderful neighbor, relative and friend to all; willing to extend a helping hand, or advice to those in need. He was employed by Westinghouse Electric Company and retired after 35—years of employment. He remains an inspiration to all and we, the family resolve to "press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Our decision would be that you would stay. It is made with love. God's decision was that you would come to share his kingdom. To cherish his memory are his wife, Sue; his sisters—in—law, Louise Squire, Cornelia Lawrence, Emily Motley, Lillian Motley, Christine Baldwin, Magnolia Scarborouch; three brothers-in—law, Wayland and Royce Motley, Clifford Baldwin, and a host of nephews and nieces and friends.
