A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she graduated from Peacham's Caledonia County Academy in 1882. In October, 1887 she married publisher and diplomat George B.M. Harvey. According to her New York Times obituary, Mrs. Harvey was fluent in several languages and maintained a correspondence with numerous friends and acquaintances around the world, whom she met through her husband's publishing and diplomatic activities.
