[Note: This family line is not bashful about giving important family names to more than one child (he had 3 brothers whose given names include John), and the early Stanleys are known for multiple given names. His older brother has 3 given names, and most likely Garrett had multiple names as well. But identifying what those names are is very difficult after that generation passes. If anyone has a Family Bible or further information on this, please contact me.]
Garrett married Minnie Lee Stephens in Covington County on 03 Aug 1902. They had 6 known children, all born in Covington County, AL. Garrett's older brother moved to Florida first, later other family members joined him.
By the time of the 1920 Census, Garrett & Minnie plus 2 of Garrett's brothers, his aged parents, and an Adkins cousin are all living adjacent to each other in Precinct 3 Beaver Creek, Okaloosa County, FL.
They reared their families here, and many of their descendants have remained.
