Peggy Zoan Blue of Newburg, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the age of 89. Peggy was born on September 24, 1928 in Newburg, Missouri to the late Nort and Ruby (Root) Spradling.
Peggy was born, raised and resided in Newburg, Missouri until 2015 when she moved into the Presbyterian Manor, Rolla, Missouri. After high school she married the love of her life, Fred Blue, Sr.; this union was blessed with two children. She worked at Fort Leonard Wood during its development and the Rolla School of Mines (now Missouri S&T) before she and Fred opened up their family grocery business, Blues Market in their hometown, Newburg, Missouri. She and Fred enjoyed forty-five years together before his death on November 24, 1995.
Peggy was a gifted artist whose focus was on painting and playing the piano. She was a longtime member of Newburg Baptist Church where she was also their pianist and a member of the local Eastern Star Chapter. She enjoyed listening, singing and playing music, spending time with her many friends that she had made at the Presbyterian Manor, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Peggy is survived by her children, Fred Jr. (Delores) Blue of Rolla, Missouri and Lorna (Larry) Prewett of Jerome, Missouri; grandchildren, Crystal (Josh) Grosvenor, Corey (Elizabeth) Blue, Bryan Prewett and Lorianne Prewett; six great-grandchildren; special cousin, C.A. Root of Newburg, Missouri; life-long friends, Vernon Campbell of St. James, Missouri, Susan Turner and Jack DeShurley both of Rolla, Missouri; a host nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by one sister, Muriel Henson.
