Burgess, 89, passed away on August 1, 2009 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora. She was a retired cafeteria worker with Webster County Schools, member of Cumberland Baptist Church and a member of the Happy Agers. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 4 at 2 p.m. at the Cumberland Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5:30-8:00 on Monday, August 3 at Welch Funeral Home in Maben. Burial will be in the Old Cumberland Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Rev. JR Eaton and Rev. Wade Stevens. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Crowley of Maben, MS; brother, James W. McGee of Maben, MS; 3 grandchildren, Doug Burgess, Brent Crowley, Lance Crowley; 5 great grandchildren, Aaron Burgess, Tyler Burgess, Ashley Burgess, Kolby Crowley, and Madelyn Crowley and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Orban Burgess, son, Duane Burgess and her parents, Osmer George McGee and Zera Henley McGee. Memorials may be made to the Cumberland Baptist Church.
