WALKER, Warren G., 79, of Manchester, Tennessee died Saturday, July 7, 2001 at Harton Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Stanton, Alabama he was the son of the late John T. and Captola Walker. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran and a retired technician after 20 years at AEDC, Court Officer for 13 years with Judge Ewell, a member of VFW and American Legion, Pearl Harbor Survivor December 7, 1941 (USS Maryland) abd decorated with the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, 4th Award. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Joe Walker. He is survived by his wife whom he married December 31, 1946, Katherine Williams Walker, Manchester; son, Michael R. (Carolyn) Walker, Manchester; son, Harold Guinn (Kathy) Walker, Hillsboro, Tennessee; daughter, Patricia I. (Robert) Follis, Huntsville, Alabama; son, Robert E. Walker, Hillsboro; sister, Annie Sue Seals, Stanton, Alabama; sister, Louise McCullough, Jones, Alabama; brother, Henry Lee Walker, Buckhead, Georgia; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church Dr. Brenton Cox officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either Growing Together fund at First Baptist Church Manchester or to the American Lung Association. Coffee County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
