Mrs. R.W. Allen of 193 East College Street died in her sleep early yesterday morning. Her death came as a great shock to her family and friends as she was active in the community until the day of her death. Born in Angola, Indiana, August 20, 1867, she was married to R.W. Allen in 1887 and with her husband moved to Oberlin in 1905. They resided at 186 West College Street for a while but have lived in their present home for many years. She is a member of the Oberlin Women's Club, a charter and honorary member of the Literary and Social Club and a member of the Eastern Stars and Merry Wives Clubs and active member of First Church. Besides her husband who has been seriously ill for several months and to whom she has been married 57 years, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs Ralph Williams ( Reva ) of Detroit, and a grandson. A daughter Pearl preceded her in death several years ago. Funeral Service will be held Friday at 2pm, First Church, with Rev. Joseph F. King officiating.
