Ann was born at Thornton Dale, Yorkshire, England. Her parents, Thomas and Mary (Read) Sigsworth [also buried in Camden Cemetery] came to America in 1818, settling first at Germantown, a suburb of Philadelphia. They moved in 1821 to Binghamton, Broome Co., New York, where Ann and William were married. The Sigsworths came to Camden Twp. in 1833, and were one of the first 12 families that settled in the township that year.
